potipot weekend

Finally! I get to do a travel blog entry haha! About time to get away from theorizing, ranting, and random musings, yes?! My college buddies and I went to potipot island last weekend. It's a 5-hour drive from Manila and a 5-minute boat trip from the shores of  Zambales.

I'm no fan of a long land trip (and very few people are i suppose), so I suggest you bring an mp3 player to keep you company. I recommend third eye blind's never let you go and semi-charmed life, wheezer's island in the sun, katy perry's teenage dream and i kissed a girl, the corrs' summer sunshine, and good-ol-beatles to sustain that summer-weekend feel on the trip.  imagine yourself in that immature-fun roadtrip movie. keep in mind that soundtrack plays a chunk of the moment!

We made sure that we were appropriately dressed for the pics. we didn't want to look corny on the pics, wearing an over-sized shirt. so its highly recommended to get on a diet (haha!) before the trip and wear that swimsuit or shorts. be sure to bring shades too! and at least three cameras should be with your group for you to brag the trip.

Be sure to bring beer, wine, and cigs on the beach. Drinking in that posh bar terribly pales in comparison to drinking with nature's gimmick getaway. The salty feeling of your skin, steamed breeze, and company of friends consist of a chill moment. bring cards too! Though we hardly gave attention to them, there was too much going on to even bother playing them haha

We tagged along sig, one of the cutest babies i know <3 We got to be the cool ninong/ninangs. We had so much fun taking care of him (or was it just michael and elena?! haha). Sig had fun throwing sand at us, and we had fun teasing him too. Grabe, pumatol ba sa bata?!

Potipot has some pretty wildlife too. I've seen a starfish a million times already, living in Surigao for four years and all, so i wasn't really that ecstatic to take a picture with it..unlike bethany over here haha. Just a warning though, Potipot has some nasty sea urchins, one managed to sting jessie. So bring first aid, or at least some vinegar or a hair puller just in case.

The best thing about the place is its scenery. Pretty much every niche around the island is perfect for picture taking. Its good to wait for sunset for you to get some kick-ass shots. officemates, classmates, that annoying neighbor are sure to envy. ha ha. there's a "field" of dandelions there. Just watch out for the red ants, they were pretty bitchy.

If you can, bring some beach toys. We managed to somewhat deprive sig of his toys. Sig only had two water guns, so we failed to play some water games. speaking of the number two...

Potipot is a nice place for some mushy moments. Too bad i didn't tag along my mirror to smooch around with. hahaha! Naku next time talaga, may madadala rin ako sa beach ;p

Looking forward to another beach trip! The beach is always the place to go when you're looking for some detox :) Be sure to save some money, trips like these are not cheap hahaha. Or at least they're not cheap at the moment. We better be earning gazillions soon hahaha. whereto next? =)
